Edward "Ted" Wilson

EDWARD WILSON came to Bapst from St. Mary's with more energy than the average candidate. His extreme loyalty to Bapst is unquestioned, and we are certain his interest in his Alma Mater will not wane over the years. Dependable Teddy has been head manager of football and basketball the past two years and has set a magnificent precedent for his successors to this thankless, never-ending job. In his classwork Ted has been a tireless worker, thereby winning the admiration of his classmates and teachers. Once out of school, "Thumper" plans to worked for Uncle Sam in the Air Force.

Upon graduation continued to work at the First National Store on State St.

Joined the Navy July 1954 and after boot camp was stationed aboard the USS Capricornus AKA 57.

August 1956 was transferred to OCS at Newport, RI, and was discharged from the Navy July 1958. While in the Navy I graduated from the U.S. Naval Justice School in Newport, RI.

After the Navy I attended Husson College from Sept. 1958 through May 1960.

While at Husson I was employed by the Savings & Loan Association of Bangor and in 1960 joined them full time.

During this time period I married Joan McNally

Class of John Bapst 1956
and a graduate of
St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing,
Lewiston, ME.

We have five sons and are now blessed with eight grandchildren. All sons and daughters in-laws and grandchildren live in Maine.

In January 1969 I accepted the position of President and CEO of the Brunswick Federal Savings in Brunswick, ME.

During this period I also served as a Director of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston from 1976 through 1987.

In 1980 I was elected to the Brunswick Town Council and served two terms.

Enough of that. Served on many local and state committees. Was awarded the Citizen of the Year by the Brunswick Area Chamber Chamber of Commerce in 1981.

Retired from the banking business in l987 but keep busy doing a number of little things.

Joan and I spend our winters in Naples, Fl.
