My Biography:
After graduating from Bapst I studied nursing at Mercy Hospital in Portland, ME and became an RN in 1958. While at Mercy I met Ernie who was attending college at USM & we were married in 1959. We have 2 lovely daughters Cathy and Susan.

Ernie & I at the Maine coast ...
our favorite place to visit on weekends.
Nursing is a great profession which allowed me the flexibility to work part time when our daughters were young.
I loved the contact with patients & gaining new knowledge in the health field. I had great opportunities in nursing & continued advancing my education, by seeking a bachelor degree at UMO in 1976 along with a Masters in Education in 1980 which qualified me to teach nursing students at EMMC nursing diploma program.
When that school closed I sought further education at he University of Texas & earned a Masters in Psychiatric Nursing which qualified me to be a psychotherapist & to teach in the Husson BSN program.
At Husson I advanced to a full Professor & wrote a Federal grant & was funded to start a Masters degreee in Psychiatric Nursing which I direct.
I have continued to seek advanced education & earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Organizational Behavior in 1996. I am presently the Dean of the School of Health at Husson & teach in the Masters Nursing Program.
I have had a few hurdles along the way, in 1998 I had breast cancer followed by surgery, radiation, & chemotherapy (also used alternative therapies) & have been cancer free for 7 years. In fact I always participate in the Komen Race for the Cure which is being held Sept. 18th on the waterfront in Bangor so you are invited to join in the race this week end if you so desire.

Our daughter Cathy is married to Jamie Willey & they have one child (our only grandchild) Joshua age 3, who is the "light of our life."
Susan is a nurse & recently engaged to a great guy Steve & we will be looking forward to a wedding in the near future.
I look forward to seeing you all soon & best to all you who cannot attend. Hope you remember the toboggan parties at Whiting Hill (which has been obliterated by the highway) & the great parties at Chickie's camp at Green Lake.
JBS gave me a great foundation for life's opportunities & I am grateful to be a member of the class of 1955!!!
